The PR 1 uses complex field dispersion design (CFD), combined with our precise three-tweeter placement, to create outstanding horizontal and vertical sound dispersion, while still maintaining all the detail and localised precision required from effects speakers.
The PR 1's have a "Room Dispersion" switch that can be switched to either direct or diffuse mode, depending on the room position of the PR 1's. If the PR 1's are a good distance from reflective boundaries, switch the PR 1's to diffuse mode, which will give a wider, more open sound.
Near reflective boundaries, an effects speaker that is already disperse may create too many reflections, and the signal coming to the ear sounds confused and therefore less realistic. In this situation, switch the PR 1's to direct mode, and let the PR 1's make use of the natural reflections of its surroundings, creating a wide, open sound via the natural boundaries of the room.
The PR 1 uses the same magnetically shielded drivers as the Subsonic Polymorphic main speakers, and centre speaker, providing one of the best tonally matched systems available on the market today.
